Russia considering supply of 1 million Sputnik-V doses to Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced additional deliveries of Sputnik V vaccine to in the coming months and said Russia is considering the possibility of supplying 1 million doses of the drug to the country.

“We have been closely cooperating since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Russia has been providing assistance to Armenia in preventing the spread of coronavirus infection. A batch of Sputnik V vaccine doses was donated. Just last month, another batch of 15,000 doses arrived,” Lavrov said at a meeting with the acting Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian, Interfax reports.

“Additional supplies are planned for the near future, the request of our Armenian friends for the provision of 1 million doses is being worked out,” the Russian Foreign Minister said.

As reported on Thursday, tourists will be required to show vaccine certificates when traveling to Armenia, according to a government decision approved earlier in the day.
