PanARMENIAN.Net – Armenia will receive 50,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose Covid-19 vaccine in fall, acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan said on Friday, July 9.
Avanesyan revealed that the country is also expecting 300,000 Novavax doses, which she said is a two-dose vaccine. According to her, the situation in Armenia has been manageable in the past two-three months.
“We must do everything to remain in the “green zone” and maintain the favorable conditions in the future as well,” Avanesyan said, referencing a recent decision by the European Union to add Armenia to its safe travel list.
Also Friday, Avanesyan said that some countries have already recognized Armenia’s Covid certification format – a dedicated application proving a traveler has been vaccinated against the coronavirus – adding that Yerevan is working to settle the matter with the rest.
Armenia currently uses AstraZeneca, Sputnik-V and Coronavac vaccines in its nationwide inoculation program, and only the former is accepted in European countries. According to official information, some 100,000 vaccine doses have already been administered in the country so far.
