PanARMENIAN.Net – Armenia has declared three days of national mourning beginning from December 19, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Monday, December 14, to honor the memory of the victims of the devastating war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh.
A remembrance march will be organized in Yerevan, which will start from the Republic Square and proceed to Yerablur military pantheon, Pashinyan added.
Though not all the missing servicemen have been found and not every body has been identified, the PM said the decision could no longer be delayed. At the same time he promised that search and rescue operations will continue more intensively.
Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side has returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
