PanARMENIAN.Net – About 270 hectares of pastures and 150 hectares of grassland were burned in 4 villages of Armenia’s Gegharkunik province in fires started by the Azerbaijani military from August 29 to September 1, Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan said on Wednesday, September 1.
He also said that the freshly-baled hay prepared for livestock for the winter has been destroyed too.
“The actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces against the civilian population of the Republic of Armenia prove that they are becoming more and more dangerous for the civilian population, are criminal, have a direct intention to hurt people, and violations of rights are massive,” the Ombudsman said.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reported on the night of September 2 that the fire had been extinguished.
