Armenia to extend quarantine regime by six months

PanARMENIAN.Net – The nationwide quarantine regime will be extended by six months, acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan said on Friday, July 9, Aysor.am reports.

“The bill on the quarantine is in the government, I think the decision to extend the quarantine regime will be made today,” Avanesyan said.

“The quarantine must definitely be extended, because it creates a toolkit that allows us to apply severe or mild restrictions.”

’s government in September 2020 lifted a state of emergency declared six months earlier and replaced it by a nationwide quarantine regime. It empowers authorities to impose nationwide or local lockdowns, seal off communities hit by coronavirus outbreaks, and close the country’s borders.
