PanARMENIAN.Net – Remains of 50 victims of the Second Karabakh war will be sent to the Netherlands for identification, acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan said on Thursday, July 29.
“Unfortunately, we had samples that could not be identified. We reached an agreement with our Dutch partners, and the remains are now being transferred,” Avanesyan told a cabinet meeting.
The acting Health Minister said, however, the results will most probably not be prompt: “Quite complicated examinations must be performed. As soon as we have the answers, we will definitely make them public.”
Avanesyan said back in March that the country won’t be able to identify some of the remains of the victims of the Nagorno-Karabakh war as decomposition has erased all identifiable features. She said some of the bodies are severely damaged, which means they can’t be identified even through DNA analysis.
