Two Armenian villagers accidentally cross border into Azeri-held area

PanARMENIAN.Net – Two residents of the border Armenian village of Tegh working with tractors on their farm lost their bearing and found themselves in territories controlled by Azerbaijan on June 12, the Ministry of Defense reports.

Shortly after the incident, the villagers were released after negotiations between Armenian border troops, Russian peacekeepers and Azeri servicemen. The agricultural equipment was returned too.

On the morning of May 12, the armed forces of Azerbaijan violated the border of in the southern province of Syunik, advancing 3.5 kilometers and surrounding Sev Lake, which is situated on the border between the two countries but is predominantly a part of Armenia. On May 13, the Azerbaijani military committed more border violations against Armenia, advancing near Vardenis (Gegharkunik province) and Sisian (Syunik province). One Armenian serviceman was killed in Azerbaijan’s shooting on May 25, six troops were captured on May 27.
