Opposition coalition unblocking central street in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net – The coalition of 17 Armenian opposition parties dubbed the Homeland Salvation Movement has decided to unblock Yerevan’s central Baghramyan Avenue which they used to stage rallies.

In a statement published on Tuesday, March 23, the Movement said the development of is impossible without resolving the current crisis, with “the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country under threat”.

“At the same time, it is obvious that the continuous struggle creates certain inconveniences for citizens, which is absolutely not the goal of the Movement,” the statement reads.

The Movement said in parallel with vacating Baghramyan Avenue, they will start a new wave of political campaigns, expanding to other areas and involving the population of the provinces.

The Homeland Salvation Movement is demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan came under fire after signing a statement with the Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents to end the war in Nagorno- almost 45 days after the start of the military hostilities. Under the deal, the Armenian side was forced to return all the seven regions surrounding Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
