Nagorno was high on the agenda of the meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Swiss Foreign Minister Ann Linde.

“Last year’s outbreak of hostilities in and around Nagorno Karabakh with its heavy death toll and human suffering made clear the risks when conflicts remain unsolved,” Ann Linde said at a joint press conference with Lavrov.

In this case, she said, the OSCE will have to play a bigger role in order to secure sustainable peace.

“International humanitarian law will guide all our efforts,” she added.

“The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and my Personal Representative have our full support in working for lasting peace,” the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office said.

She said conflict resolution is a strong priority of the OSCE.
