PanARMENIAN.Net is not considering the issue of engaging in trade with Azerbaijan and Turkey, lawmaker Sisak Gabrielyan from the ruling My Step bloc said Friday, February 12, reports.

“Negotiations between Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan are not related to trade with Turkey or Azerbaijan,” Gabrielyan said.

According to Hayk Gevorgyan, another member of parliament from the ruling bloc, the matter is often manipulated. He reminded that Armenia is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, which means that the country’s borders are also the EAEU’s borders.

“When crossing the Armenian border, Turkish products are faced with the obstacles and customs restrictions of the EAEU,” he said.

Armenian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anna Naghdalyan said earlier that has not reconsidered its assessment of Turkey’s destructive involvement in the region. Her comments came in response to a statement from the ARF Central Council of the Armenian National Committee, expressing concerns over Armenia’s approaches towards Turkey.
