Armenia ready for negotiations with Azerbaijan, Pashinyan says

PanARMENIAN.Net is ready to engage in negotiations with Azerbaijan at a high and the highest levels, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, August 12.

“Returning to the call of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to resume peace talks with Azerbaijan, I would like to emphasize that Armenia is ready to be involved in the negotiation process at both a high and the highest levels. We are waiting for concrete proposals,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, the mandate “received by the people to begin a new era of peaceful development for Armenia, and the region is a special kind of responsibility.”

“To resolve those issues, we must be as active and flexible as possible. Our mood and attitude must be the following: do our best to solve the problems at hand.” the PM said.

Pashinyan noted that the unblocking of transport communications in the region is one of the more easily solvable problems. He called for restarting trilateral negotiations to pave the way for more economic opportunities.

“Our position on the demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is unchanged, we think that work in this direction should be intensified as well,” he added.
