Armenia PM: Karabakh operation near Jebrail proceeding as planned

PanARMENIAN.Net – Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said the the Armenian side’s operation near Jebrail, Nagorno-Karabakh is proceeding as planned.

“Based on the information we’ve been receiving from early morning, we can say that the Karabakh commanders’ plan has worked – they took tactical steps in the south, left a corridor open and lured the Azerbaijani military corps, which is now receiving crushing blows. And I think this will be the key moment of the whole operation. According to my information, a real foundation is being laid for the final victory of the Karabakh army,” Pashinyan said in an interview with RBC on Wednesday, October 7.

“I say this because the Karabakh and Armenian commanders had a plan: to retreat in the direction of Jebrail and lure large forces of the Azerbaijani army. They reached the area last night in very large forces and were dealt a crushing blow. The operation is proceeding extremely successfully.”

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey, launched a large-scale offensive against Karabakh () in the morning of September 27, shelling Armenian positions and civilian settlements with large caliber weapons and rocket systems. and Karabakh have introduced martial law and total mobilization. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. International and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
